Getting To The Venue

Borgo Stomennano, located in Monteriggioni, is nestled in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence and Siena. The villa is a 20-minute drive from Siena, and a 45-minute drive from Florence.

Renting a car is a wonderful way to explore the Tuscan countryside. There are also car services available. As we get more of your travel details, we will sort out shuttles from Monteriggioni & Siena area for wedding festivities. Keep us posted and feel free to reach out with any questions or if you want itinerary suggestions.

Getting To Tuscany

Italy is a bit smaller than the state of California, and Tuscany is located right in the center, making traveling within Italy fairly easy – and a great way to extend your vacation.

Flight Suggestions

There are many ways to get from the US to Italy – and countless more if you’re traveling from within Europe.

The Most Romantic:
Venice Airport Marco Polo (VCE)

This is the route Katy & Alex are taking. Land in Venice and take a speedboat into town straight from the airport. Enjoy a night (or two) here before hopping on a scenic 2-hour train to Florence.

The Easy Trip Extenders:
Rome Airport Fiumicino - Leonardo da Vinci (FCO) & Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP)

Italy’s capital, and a major travel hub, Rome makes for a great entry point, and is an easy hour and half train ride to Florence.

Traveling by train from Milan to Florence is another easy and beautiful route. High-speed trains make the journey in just 1 hour and 40 minutes.

The Closest:
Florence Airport Peretola (FLR) & Pisa International Airport (PSA)

The closest airport to Borgo Stomennano (45 minutes), flying into Florence is a great option if you’re traveling via a major European hub such as London, Paris or Amsterdam.

The second closest airport to Stomennano (1 hour 15 minutes) and the primary hub in Tuscany is Pisa.

From within Europe:

Whether you live in Europe or have already begun your travels, getting to Tuscany from within Europe is a breeze. Most major airports have direct routes to many of Italy’s airports: Pisa, Florence, Rome, Venice, Milan, etc…

Indirect Travel Ideas:

Flights to London from the US are generally well-priced because London is a major hub. Booking your US to Europe roundtrip flight to/from a major hub, such as London or Paris, gives you greater flexibility on your entry and exit points from Italy (for example, once in Europe, you could fly into Venice and out of Naples before making the bigger flight back home.)
